The Seedance AI video generator runs seven ByteDance models, so choose a version first: each shows different settings. Then describe the action and the camera. Next, add inputs if you want them: a source image and optional end frame on 1.0 and 1.0 Pro, up to two reference images on 1.5 Pro, or a first frame, last frame, up to nine reference images and reference audio or video links on the 2.x versions. Set the aspect ratio, resolution and duration; clips run from 4 to 15 seconds depending on the version. The credit cost appears before you generate. For still images, use Seedream on the home page.

For a simple 5 or 10-second shot from a source image, use 1.0 or 1.0 Pro. For generated sound on clips of 4 to 12 seconds, use 1.5 Pro. For first and last frames, reference audio or video and clips up to 15 seconds, use a 2.x version: 2.0 reaches 4K, 2.5 reaches 1080p, and 2.0 Mini and 2.0 Fast stop at 720p.
No. Free accounts cannot generate any Seedance version; Basic or above is required, and each clip shows its cost before you generate. A 4-second 480p clip on 1.5 Pro costs 7 credits without sound. Free credits still work for Seedream images.
Download the image from My Creations, pick a version here that accepts images and upload it as the source or first frame. There is no one-click transfer.
On the 2.x versions, Basic covers 480p and higher resolutions need a Pro plan; 4K on 2.0 is Pro-only, at 5 or 10 seconds. On 1.0, 1.0 Pro and 1.5 Pro, 720p opens on Basic and 1080p on Pro.
Version 1.5 Pro generates sound when you switch it on, at twice the credit cost. The 2.x versions generate sound by default and accept up to three reference audio links. Versions 1.0 and 1.0 Pro make silent clips.
